A Great Keagan story

I was just talking to my dad on the phone & trying to get Keagan to clean his room (w/ not a lot of luck) when my dad was laughing at the situation and reminded me of his favorite Keagan story....
A few years ago, we were sitting in Stake conference ( a longer than usual @ 2 hour church meeting) when Keagan was getting really squirmy and being being a stinker. Not that I blamed him that much... having to sit for that long of a time. I told him that he needed to be quiet and sit still or I would have to take him out and give him a spanking. (Like he really knows what a spanking is!) So he was quiet for a few minutes and then came to me and said, "Mom, I want a spanking." :) So much for that great idea.

Girlfriends!

Quote from Marjorie Pay Hinckley
“Oh how we need each other. Those of us who are old need you who are young. And, hopefully, you who are young need some of us who are old. It is a sociological fact that women need women. We need deep and satisfying and loyal friendships with each other."
Of course none of us are old! I love this quote. Kylie brought a movie to show us and this was on it. We had such a good time! Lots of laughs, ice cream, a little bit of tears, and hardly any sleep, I wouldn't trade it for anything. We're hoping it becomes a tradition! We're soo thankful for Ang's sister for letting us stay in a condo up in Solitude, Utah ( up the mountains from Salt Lake City) And I'm glad Kylie could come stay w/ us for a couple of nights and Carol and Tiffany could come up for an evening. The 3 of them are all Lacey 2 originals and have moved to Utah. All of us are Lacey 2nd ward originals.... and it looks like I'm going to be the only original left... how sad!

Here is the condo we stayed in, we stayed on the 3rd floor.

Is this our yard? The adventures and pictures of the last 3 years.

Now! We planted grass two weeks ago and are soo excited about how it looks. It needs to fill in a little bit more, but looks sooo much better than before!!! We got the best compliment the other day, a friend of mine came to the house and hadn't been over for a while, she drove right by, not recognizing the house. Next: Flowers!

Before we moved in. Can you even see the house?
One of the first things we did when we moved in was pull out those bushes.
This is before we cut the tree down last summer.

Last summer we had the tree cut down. Ray helped him to keep cost down. It just happened to be the hottest day of the year... it was 100 degrees that day! It took 2 days to cut down. We were left while a yard full of debree. Keagan thought it would be fun to walk in the yard across the logs..... next thing we knew there was blood everywhere and we were at Group Health getting him stitches....

This is 2 weeks later after stitches and yard clean up he came back to finish cutting the tree down.

Timber!!!

One year later..... getting the stump out.

They thought they could pull it out...

Rototilling it, over and over.

Even Aurora helped!

Pulling the rock over to the side. Look at my other entry of the front yard for more pics of the path.

Woodlawn Creek Park

Last night we went to the newer park, Woodlawn Creek Park, I think is the name. It is behind the Lacey Community Center. It was my first time there, the kids and Ray had been there before. What a fun park! Keagan love the climbing rope toy, he called it the Eifel tower. He got Ray to go on it w/ him.
I love this picture, if you click on it and see it bigger, you can see Keagan looking at his his dad w/ total adoration!
Look at my 2 monkeys! :)

Fun on the swings, too. They were racing to see who could go the highest. (Keagan had a head start.)
What Keagan loves about this play structure is the big slides, he says about the one on the fartherst left side, it is like a roller coaster. It is fast and curvy. Fun!

There is a trail that goes around the park and down to the water. What is that body of water called? Is it a lake or pond....? This is the view from part of the trail getting closer to the water.
Of course Keagan wouldn't be Keagan if he didn't wade in the water. There is a sign saying no swimming, but no sign saying no wading.

This a pic from the other side of the body of water. We walked to the other side as far as we could go. There is a paved path and then a little bit of a path not paved and then it stops and there is no way to go all the way around.

We had a lot of fun at the park, we spent almost 3 hours there. We say the Andrew Kill and his son from our ward and then when were almost ready to leave the Julkunens came and we stayed another hour. Keagan & Haley had a good time playing together. We missed Melissa! She was at the dance festival at the Tacoma Dome. We kept looking at our watches and thinking, what is she doing now, 7:00 now they are performing.... We're excited to go see it tomorrow!

Melissa's bday

Today was Melissa's 13th b-day! Finally a teenager..... am I really that old to have a teenager?!

Here is my sweet little angel at 5 months. This is one of my favorite pics of her. Her Aunt Darlene, back in the day when she had a great job & Melissa was the first girl in many moons, SPOILED Melissa and bought her this adorable dress.
Here is her baby pic @ 6 days old. This dress is the dress she came home from the hospital in, and also the dress that I came home from the hospital in. The blanket was from Aunt Laura & Uncle John and says Melissa on it. (Does she still give that Dah look?!!)
Today was a pretty uneventful day for her, we did most of her bday activities before and later next week she is going to have a slumber party. Yesterday I took her to go get a pedicure. Look at those feet.... cute nails, though!
She is soo grown-up, she got her eyebrows waxed, too. Wow!
We took her out to dinner at Izzys. They had her stand up on a chair to sing Happy Birthday to her. That was worth every minute of it! Lauren got to spend the night... I'm sure they will be up late tonight.
Doing a puzzle while they were watching tv.

Keagan's B-day

His most recent pics (their almost a year old)
showing off his fun loving personality
My "Baby" boy turned 9. Here he is @ 7 days old. He was soo little and cute... he's still pretty cute! (although I am biased)

Keagan had a great day, although I was gone for most of it (more of that later) He went w/ Ray to take some of the ward's girls to girls camp. Next he went to school lunch w/ dad and then Mackenzie & Landon came over and helped make and eat cupcakes. They took his friends home and dad & Keagan went to go play glow golf at the mall. They had a great time and Keagan won a free game! That evening Ray & Keagan went to cub scout pack meeting which was outside in the pavalion. They had a water fight and had cupcakes for snack. They sang to Keagan and he had a great time. After all that Ray took Keagan to grandma & grandpas for a few days in Shelton.

Keagan had lots of fun w/ Grandma & Grandpa! They took him to Mayfield Lake. They spent a couple of nights there. They went fishing and got to play out in the boat and go swimming. Keagan loved swimming and he got to drive the boat! He told me, "I didn't even crash and there was a boat right beside me!" They finished off their time by going bowling! Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

Priest Point Park

On Thursday, Darri and I took the kids to Priest Point Park near downtown Olympia. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold! Curtis Racham was here visiting kyle from Utah. We had a great time. Melissa brought the net w/ the badmittion & volleyball. It took them a while to set it up, and then they played - they were nice enough to let Keagan play, too. He was in heaven. He has always loved Kyle! They were a lot of fun to watch.

Boys vs. girls
The boys slaughtered the girls
:(

Darri & I looking on

(Keagan kept taking pics)

It had been a long time since I have been to this park, the play structure was new to me, Melissa informed that it had been there for a long time. They have these great wooden swings in the park too. (They have been there forever!)

After they played for quite a while we walked down to the water.

You can even see the capitol in the background.
