With the nice weather we have been having, we have really been enjoying our backyard. It stays pretty cool back there (w/ the 13 trees..) I told Ray a week or two ago, I would love to have a swing back there... just a couple of days later he calls me and said he got a surprise for me, someone had listed a swing on Craig's list for FREE! Yeah! It is not the prettiest thing, but it is comfortable! We have already enjoyed it ... A LOT! Thanks Hon! You're awesome! Last year we got this little fire bowl/pit and haven't used it very much, so we got it out and had smores the other night! Fun! Fun!
Believe it or not we can all fit... kind of squishy, but cozy. :)
Memorial Day Weekend we went to go visit my mom & Thom and went on a Sunday drive. We ended up at Wynoochee Lake - I'm not really sure how to get there, we went through Montesanto and some old logging roads, it is far away from EVERYTHING! But it is beautiful, they come out here a lot w/ their boat. We might come out camping this summer... if I'm near the RV, cause that is my kind of camping...

My camera has this cool panorama thing you can do, where you take 3 pics and it puts them all together, the thing is sometimes it is hard to match up really well...
Ray and Melissa's favorite sport is baseball. We all enjoyed a game Sat. night. Ray watches it ALL of the time and Melissa watches as much as she can. I like it, too, but not as much as they do... and I can live w/ out it, too. (Keagan, well, he tolerates it...) We all love Ken Griffey, Jr! Melissa and I haven't been to a ballgame in 8 or 9 years so we decided that we should go, especially since Griffey is back! Unfortunately they didn't win... but it was perfect weather for a game! It was not too hot and not too cold and perfectly sunny! The only problem was the sun was right in our face. We sat in center field and it was a little far to see... good thing I have a good zoom on my camera!
The view w/ out zooming in
Enjoying the game! Or in Keagan's case.. all of the goodies we brought!
Keagan had told me that he's not really into sports. Can you believe he fell asleep for a while?!
Saturday we went up to the temple so Ray could work our ward's veil assignment, we had already bought tickets for the Mariners game for Saturday night, so we all went up and I stayed out w/ the kids and we went to the park near the temple, went to the bookstore, DQ, and then walked around the temple grounds. It was such a beautiful day!! I felt a little funny not being dressed up on the temple grounds! I normally don't like pictures of myself, but I thought it was cool how Melissa got the picture of me looking at the temple, w/ the reflection of the temple in my sunglasses. She likes taking all of the pictures, I have to remind her that the camera is mine, not hers. I love how the kids were excited to be at the Temple grounds and that they quietly walked around. Keagan loved the statues. He kept putting his sunglasses on them... I love that Melissa loves taking pictures of the Flag! Her first grade teacher taught her a real great respect for our country and the flag!
Most of you know that Melissa has had a rough year this year! She had mono for 6 months and after that she caught every little sick bug around. It wasn't until Spring Break time (April) that she really felt better. She went half days of school from the end of September to Feb. Well, with all of that being sick and missing school her grades really suffered! She is normally an A/B student. Her grades are online and in April she had F's in two of her classes. Yikes! Not just F's, but 33%, low F's! Melissa and I were looking at her grades and now she has D's, one is 65% and one is 60%. I told her good job Melissa you got that up to a D! We looked at each other and started laughing! Who would of knew I would say that... to her!
The kids had to be at the fun fair at 10:15 to perform at 10:45, it lasted until about 11:30ish. Keagan's school was marching in the parade at noon and he needed to be back there at 11:45! wheww! The theme for the parade was homemade instruments and hats. Keagan is wearing Melissa's cowboy hat and he had a bucket that he and Ray drilled a hole in to put rope in to hang over his head for a drum.
See the yellow hat, that is Keagan There he is! It was a beautiful day! It actually got up to 80 by the afternoon! (A little hot for us western Wa people) After the parade he went and did things w/ Uncle Scott and Aurora while Cindy and I walked around and looked at the booths. (I think this is the first year I have looked at the booths) Thanks Uncle Scott! (Ray was doing yard work for someone- earning a little extra $) Melissa was doing the teeny bopper thing and wondering around w/ her friends. That was a little weird... It was kind of funny my sister was more worried about it than I was! :) After a couple of hours Keagan and I did some things together - here he is by the fire engines. He was named after my grandpa Darrell James who was a firefighter.
sorry, but I'm going to post all of the kids performances on here so we can share them w/ family. Well actually I'm not sorry - they did a great job! But they are a lot to watch.. if you have time enjoy! :)
Cowboy up. Something a little different Melissa's dance teacher is doing this year is combining the younger/older classes to have a bigger group dancing.
Soul man w/ Keagan... it was kind of sad, one boy broke his foot and the other 2 boys had a family situation come up, so Keagan and Justin were the only ones performing! Keagan has a hard time performing, he told me he can't look up, it makes him nervous! He does better in this one w/ the sunglasses on. :)
The boys are back w/ Keagan and Justin
Melissa in the jr/sr class - Push it to the limit
Melissa in the more advanced class w/ move along - this one is my favorite so far, they are getting really good! They performed another one, but just barely learned it and she asked me not to blog it .. yet, I'll wait until their end of the year performance.
