December 2016
Dear Family and Friends,
Of course our most exciting event this year was the birth of
our granddaughter, Hazel Kay Denton. She
was born on April 15, 2016. Melissa,
Chaz, and baby Hazel live in Utah. Even though they live so far away and we
miss them like crazy, we feel blessed to be able to see them as much as we have
and to have modern technology to FaceTime (like skype) them often! Hazel is 7.5 months now and we have been able
to see her 5 different times!
I remember not too long ago my kids had never been to Utah!
Now we go every chance we get! Thank goodness gas prices have gone down over
the last couple of years and stayed lower! It’s only a 13 hour drive!
Ray is working on his 3rd year working at
L&I. He likes what he is doing and enjoys his co-workers. He works one day a week at Marshalls to help
for all those trips to Utah. Keagan
starting working his 2nd Holiday season there and hopes to be able
to stay on after the Holidays. Donna is
still doing preschool in the home 2 days a week and then para subs at the
schools. She does anything from recess duty, preschool, and working in the
resource room. We hear lots of fun and
interesting stories! It’s also fun for her to run into the primary children
from the ward and stake.
Keagan is a junior this year. He is in choir and his choir
gets to go to Disneyland to perform during spring break this coming April. He
is super excited! He’s hoping to get his driver’s license soon, too. He has already taken driver’s ed. We’re just
waiting on him to help pay for insurance. He is a fun kid to have around! He
keeps reminding us that he is going to be 18 next year! Yikes! When “they” say
it goes fast, it really does!
Over the past few years, we have had some great young people
and missionaries in our lives! It has been so fun to stay connected to them and
see them growing up, going to college, getting married, and a couple having
babies. When we go to Utah, we love to
see as many as possible!
Growing older is hard.
This past year we have lost a couple of our dear loved ones! Our sweet
step mom-Grandma Judy past away. And then on Thanksgiving Day, our brother
–in-law Uncle Jace passed away. We miss them greatly! They are loved! Even
though it is hard and we miss them both so much, it is comforting to know where
they are. We know that Heavenly Father
has a plan for us and that we can be reunited with loved ones someday. It also
makes us wanting to hold our loved ones a little closer and making sure they
know they are loved!
We feel blessed to have so many loved ones in our lives!
Family and friends make everything better! We hope you can remember the true
meaning of Christmas – Our Savior. We
are grateful for his life on service and sacrifice and are trying to be like
him.
Lots of Love!
