One of these things is not like the other.. and my first car

Melissa & I have fun together talking and teasing. She loves newer sports cars and says when she sees one she really likes, that could be my first car... I point out all of the practical cars.. um ugly and affordable?! The other day we were driving and she saw several sports cars that she liked, we were surrounded by them on the freeway. We were in our white practical mini-van and I started singing the Sesame street song, One of these things is not like the other... (Do they still do that on Sesame street?) We both laughed and laughed... which made me think of my first car.

Below is a picture of my first car, bright orange '76 Subaru station wagon. (Now remember I went to High school in the late 80s, so it was only 12+ yrs old) I actually loved it!

Growing up we ended up w/ 3 Subaru station wagons, '76, '77 era. Mine, an off white stick and a white one, each w/ their share of problems that we all laugh about now. One of them didn't reverse, when I drove that one I either took my brother w/ me to push me out and be my reverse or made sure I found a parking spot that I could pull forward into. One of the subaru's didn't have an ignition, you could start it w/ a screw driver! Now that is classy! :) One of them had a spot you could see the ground.. but I thought I was pretty lucky to have a car! :)
What was your first car?

Mine was a Subaru GL like a 1980?!? Poo Brown with rust holes in the floors as well. Hitting those slush puddles at break up time in Alaska was always fun!!
