Utah part 2 12.16

Some random photos before Christmas Day.
We got to meet Carie and Aubrey for lunch.  It was so good to see them and catch up.  Melissa starting babysitting Carie's kids when she was 11. We miss them in Washington!

Before Christmas, Utah had just a smidge of snow...

This is the view from Chaz's parents front yard.

Hazel and her daddy. She loves standing up and thinks she's such a big girl!

And Hazel loves being in her just her diaper!

Ray, Keagan, and I made cookies on Saturday.  Our friend Stewart Kearney came over to help.. eat or make.. I'm not sure.  Kearney, as we call him served in our ward as a missionary.  We love him!

Some more random pictures of Hazel.  She loves her bear!

 And her daddy!!!!

Temple Square 2016

Thursday night we went to Temple Square to see the beautiful lights.  The last time I went was when I was in college.  Ray and Keagan (and Hazel) had never been before.  It has been on our bucket list as a family to go.  I think it was around 32 degrees! Brrrr!

Melissa holding Hazel in the baby carrier.  It takes team effort to get her in there and ready to go.

Our first view from the mall.
Beautiful!!!

At first we thought it was a live nativity.  The nativity story was over the loud speakers.  It was peaceful and calm.

 Hahahahaha

Trip to Utah Christmas 2016 part 1

Of course, like most vacations, we had wore ourselves out before we even left.  We wanted to get an earlier start, but left @6:30 a.m.  Our normal start time of 4 a.m. was a NO GO! We were too tired to do that and it was too dark! There was so much fog all the through Portland.  It made driving hard to see!
I love stopping at Multnomah Falls.  Even if we just stop for a few minutes and look at the Falls and of course take some pictures! This time it had snow and ice at the Falls.  The parking lot was a sheet of ice.  I got out to only hold onto the car and get back in.  I was out just long enough to admire it and take a few pictures.

We stopped in The Dalles to have lunch and get gas.  There was so much snow!

It was crazy that there was snow from Portland all the way to South Jordan Utah. We got to Utah @9:30 that evening.

(And the main reason for all our trouble of getting there.. Hazel Kay! We wanted to be there for her first Christmas! (I know.. like she's going to remember?!) Also, we probably won't be able to see her again until April, so we wanted one more trip in between.

I love having these "normal" moments of hanging out and enjoying each other's company.  Hazel is so fun!  She is starting to laugh when you make silly noises.  She claps! And she loves making raspberry noises. She is almost crawling and she pulls up to stand when you take her fingers.

Melissa and Chaz had to work the first couple of days we were there.  We took Hazel to go see one of our favorite rms, Jared Oliphant.  We were just in time.. Jared and his wife Julia left right after she got out of work after our visit to travel to her home in CA.  I love this kid!
Momma Shoop.. do we have to take pictures... duh!

Jared and his cute wife Julia!

After seeing them, we were crazy and went to the Outlet stores. It wasn't a crowded as expected.  Thank goodness.  I can't tell who is more enamored with Hazel!
