Our beautiful capitol and a sunny day

The weather was beautiful Sunday, so we decided that right after church we would go to the Capital grounds. I've been wanting to go and get some pictures. While we have had pages the past few weeks I have gotten to go to the capital grounds and see how beautiful it is!! Ray is so lucky to work in such a beautiful setting. On the way home we got a pic Mt. Rainier.
If you haven't been to the capital recently - you should go. Right now it is gorgeous! There are so many things to see. Right now all of the tulips and daffodils are out in blossom and the cherry blossoms and..

This is the sun dial in between the O'brien building and Sherberg building, Ray works in the O'brien and legislative building. The O'brien building is in the back left and the leg in the back middle.

This is the O'brien building that Ray works in.

The "Dome"
The legislative building

Near the "back" of the capital campus you can see the water and the mountains in the background, there is a trail to walk around the water.

Lots of gorgeous flowers!

A Magnolia tree on the side exit of the Leg. building, this is where I usually parked to wait for our pages to come out.
A side view of the O'brien building a few days ago when I picked up a page.

stye in my eye

I can't believe I am even sharing this! But I thought I prob. would of tortured my kids and took pics of it and shared..

Wed night my eye started hurting.. I found a tiny little pimple on the eye lid. I remember Melissa having one when Keagan was born. They next morning I woke up to my eyelid inflamed. This is what it looked like this morning, and yes my eye is open all of the way.

The only thing you can really do for a stye is put warm compresses on it and give it time. Luckily after a warm compress it goes down significantly, it just looks droopy.

So Sat. I stayed home from our fun church activity because of this, Sunday morning I had a warm compress on almost all morning and smothered my eye w/ makeup so you could barely tell. It is getting so its not as red on the lid.

It is sensitive to light, so I haven't gone out to much to enjoy the beautiful sunshine (except yesterday) I just wore my sunglasses the whole time. :( Hopefully it goes away soon... It doesn't hurt too much, its just a little uncomfortable.. and I have to sit still and put a wash cloth on it frequently. I have been listening to my mp 3 player .. a lot lately.

Yesterday before I put make up on - I had a lesson I had to teach at church.

General conference

I love General Conference! Luckily I have a great husband who has taught me this. I did like General Conference before, but didn't appreciate it like I do now. In my family growing up we didn't do General Conference, it was an extra weekend off of church. In his family - or his Aunt's and grandparents they watched every session. We decided that is what we wanted to do. When the kids were little it was hard! We came up with games and things for them to do. A lot of times they played with blocks or legos and came up with some amazing temples and conference center buildings.

This year we watched the first 1/2 hour of Saturday's session to see who the newest apostle was and then drove to Boise. I felt like I was breaking the Sabbath! (Idid record it to watch later) I was soo glad that one of the things that Keagan was so excited about going to visit the Reddings was that we got to sit in their cool chairs and watch the prophet on the big screen.

So moms, with little kids, keep it up, it is worth it!

I loved Elder Holland's talk! The church put it w/ video and it is on youtube now. They have a bunch of videos under MormonMessages. They also post them on the lds.org homepage.

For FHE while we were in Idaho with the Reddings, their home teacher invited us over to their home/ranch to ride horses and learn how to rope. The weather outside was sunshiney (is that a word?) and beautiful. The kids had a great time! My kids had never rode a horse besides the free pony rides.. if you call that a horse, you know us city folk...
They showed us roping, too, and put on a show for us. I have a video of it, but I don't know how to upload it using the Redding's computer.
Then of course we had a yummy dessert afterwards, isn't that what FHE is all about?! YUM! Strawberry shortcake!

one or the other

I have a few things I could blog about.. but right now I'm in in Boise :) visiting the Reddings and don't have access to my pictures.. but it seems like if I have time to blog then I have nothing to blog about and if I don't have time to blog I have several things.. so when I get back I'll try to blog a few things..
It seems like this is the way it is with money too. If I have enough time to do the project I don't have the money and if I have the money I don't have enough time. Hmmm

that is why

Last Sunday at church someone's cell phone rang pretty loudly. She is an older woman and couldn't get to it, I think by the time she could get up and out of the chapel (if she would of tried) it would of been done ringing. She could Not find it in her purse... after this happened Keagan leaned over to me and whispered, "That is why you don't bring cell phones to church!"

excellent

One of Keagan's spelling words was excellent last week. With every spelling word you have to write a sentence. He tries to get the shortest sentence possible. He wrote, "I am excellent."

I said to him, I like your sentence Keagan, I am excellent,
he said, well, I am!
